Anjappar Chettinaadu Military Hotel commenced operations in Royapettah High Road, Chennai, South India in the year 1965. The word Chettinaadu Hotel was coined by its founder Mr Anjappar. Thus Anjappar Hotel became the pioneer in "Chettinaadu food".
Mr. Anjappar, the founder of this restaurant, hailed from the famous Chettinaad area. He introduced to the Hotel Industry, the exclusive taste of Chettinaad varieties, which attracted taste hunters. The concept of outdoor catering too was launched then.
In 1995, an ultra modern restaurant with an enchanting ambience was opened at 7/2, J.P. Towers, Nungambakkam,Chennai, South India, India providing the best food in a fully air-conditioned, well decorated hall at very affordable prices. This restaurant created a niche for itself in the Chettinaad segment. It attracted a lot of customers.
Our specialties include exclusive items like Dum Briyani, Chettinaad Chicken, Lamb, viral fish curry & fry and fish curry.
In 1999, the next branch commenced operations at Annanagar which is a posh suburb of Chennai. This was another feather in our cap. The restaurant became so popular for the quality of food and the personalised service. On public demand the third branch was opened on 19th Jan 2002 at T.Nagar, the commercial capital of Chennai.
Subsequently branches have been opened overseas at Dubai, Malaysia, Canada, Singapore (Race Course Road and Syed Alwi Road), Abudhabi and Colombo. Meantime we also expanded our reach within India to Mylapore, Egmore, R.K.Salai, Chennai Central, Chrompet, Pondichery, Coimbatore and Bangalore.
